Kelly Armer Announces Resignation as COO of SRYMCA
Saratoga Springs, NY - The Saratoga Regional YMCA today announced that Kelly Armer has recently resigned as their Chief Operating Officer. Her responsibilities will temporarily be assumed by Chief Executive Officer Andrew Bobbitt as a national search soon gets underway.
“I thank Kelly for the contributions she has made during her nearly 30 years with SRYMCA. Kelly has been an integral part of SRYMCA’s growth, and those of us who have enjoyed working with her know that we are a better, stronger organization because of her myriad efforts,” said Andrew Bobbitt, SRYMCA Chief Executive Officer.
“Kelly impacted many of SRYMCA’s initiatives as far back as 1995 with the initial opening of a Malta Childcare Center. Kelly served as capital campaign director and COO raising $7.5 million for the construction of the new West Avenue branch when the YMCA moved from its former facility on Broadway in 2007. More recently, she was project lead for the construction of a new Outdoor Center and Adventure Course at the West Avenue branch and our new shared facility with Saratoga Hospital in Malta which fully opened this past August. She has been a critical member of the executive leadership team and her breadth of experience in operations has helped position us for continued growth,” Bobbitt said.
Ms. Armer had been with SRYMCA for nearly 30 years, having started professionally in the childcare department in 1989 after attending graduate school at Springfield College. In addition to serving as COO for 17 years, she twice served as interim CEO when the Board of Directors sought new chief executive officers in 2001 and 2015. During her tenure, she has raised nearly $15 million for the SRYMCA’s programs and capital projects.
“I have made the Saratoga Regional YMCA my professional home for nearly three decades and it has been very rewarding to be involved in transforming and growing the SRYMCA into the strong, vibrant organization that it is today,” Ms. Armer said. “As I leave the SRYMCA, I want to thank the dedicated staff, members and donors that have contributed to the organization and made my career such a pleasure!”
