ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Leads and/or assists with the instruction and supervision of all practices. Helps to develop participants’ skill and promote their involvement as part of a class.
· Ensures the safety and well-being of each child under their supervision and maintains a creative and playful atmosphere for all participants.
· Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
· Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
· Conveys information on youth programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
· Evaluates all program participants prior to and following seasons/sessions.  Provides feedback to participants and parents.
· Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
· Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, completes related reports as required.
· Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and program participants; helps them connect with each other and the Y. Identifies potential volunteers.
· Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and our three areas of focus: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
· Ability to articulate and model the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
· Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum age of 18 years old
· 3+ year of previous soccer team participation experience.

1+ year of soccer coaching experience.
· Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications.

POSITION DETAILS:

The Saratoga Regional YMCA’s Marketing and Communications team is looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist who can enhance our brand and build a strong online presence through our website and various digital and social media platforms.  The DMS will report to the Assistant, Director of Marketing and Communications and is responsible for managing the association’s social media and digital strategy on a daily basis.  If you’re a motivated person who is creative, data-driven, has a mobile-first approach, and wants to work in a fun, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment, then we want to hear from you!​

 

JOB DETAILS:

The Digital Marketing Specialist position will be part of a dynamic, creative and strategic marketing and communications team working to drive an exciting growth agenda for the Association while supporting Y values. The SRYMCA MarComm team is looking for a driven, passionate and creative individual who can help lead our association’s digital efforts enabling us to communicate our presence and impact within our community at the next level.

 

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With the guidance of the Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications, create and execute an organization wide strategy for digital marketing, content promotion and targeted messaging.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent interactive voice for the association.
  • Regularly review and maintain effectiveness of ads.
  • Set analytics benchmarks and goals.
  • Compile and distribute reports on web/email analytics and social media participation.
  • Utilize evaluation of analytics to make appropriate recommendations.
  • On an on-going basis, assess quality of content to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Organize and manage content between multiple digital platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with latest trends and best practices.
  • Assist with the overall development of projects and digital activities strategy including the management and delivery of content via the organization’s webpages, newsletters, social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) and emails.
  • Maintain the company website
  • Ability to convert analytical insights into concepts and recommendations.
  • Work closely with the organization leadership and partners to document stories and successes in project activities in a compelling manner across multiple digital outlets.
  • Verify that all content is approved through proper channels and systems to ensure messaging is consistent with donor messaging.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or relevant field of study and at least 1-3 years’ professional experience or equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
  • Complete understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Photoshop.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics and other social media SEO and data measuring platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to compose narratives write and edit compelling stories and posts.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in developing and implementing social media strategies that advance organizational communication strategies, program visibility and engage new audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of online video, social media, and supporting technologies.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and a strong attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responds to the individual needs of the other person.
  2. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
  3. Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
  4. Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect with one another and the Y.

Outdoor Recreation Instructor

OUTDOOR RECREATION INSTRUCTOR

The SRYMCA is looking for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, facilitating interpersonal connections, supporting others in personal growth, and encouraging an appreciation for the natural world. Individuals with ropes course, archery, camping, hiking and facilitation skills are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided for highly motivated individuals who are looking to further their experience and mentor others.

  • Must be available to attend ropes course training the week of April 22-27, 2019

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must provide excellent customer service, be friendly and attentive to all guests and campers
  • Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally present during events.
  • Must show competency in the technical skills associated with the Outdoor Recreation operation.
  • Must display leadership in debriefing and closure for each activity.
  • Must demonstrate confidence when speaking in front of groups. This includes participants and other staff.
  • Maintain and inventory equipment before and after each event.
  • Must be responsible for ensuring the safety of each participant and demonstrate a clear understanding of the risks involved in each activity.
  • Must be able to clearly instruct the facilitation of games, initiatives and all other Outdoor Recreation activities.
  • Must complete daily paperwork documenting operations and properly handling incidents per SRYMCA policy.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use sound judgment to ensure safety throughout every event.
  • Must be able to handle unexpected circumstances and have a good understanding of group management.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work in the outdoors under harsh weather conditions, on uneven terrain, and at a height.

 

 

 

  • Must be team oriented and dedicated to the goals set by the SRYMCA Outdoor Recreation department.
  • Willing to work as a team with co-facilitators and visiting teachers.
  • Must have the ability to work with diverse groups of people and group sizes.
  • Will complete daily inspections.
  • Must have the proper understanding and ability to setup and take down Outdoor Recreation elements and properly store them.
  • Must review ropes facilitation techniques regularly.
  • Must review and practice emergency procedures regularly.
  • Responsible for keeping the physical area clean and clear of any hazardous materials.
  • Must communicate to leadership any potential concerns or hazerds

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Maintains the cleanliness and general maintenance of the facility, both inside and out. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Cleans bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, program and office spaces and any other assigned areas by emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and polishing.
  • Performs specialized floor cleaning duties including, but not limited to stripping, scrubbing, polishing, buffing floors. Removing stains and cleaning carpets. Minor maintenance repairs and tasks as directed.
  • Uses all cleaning supplies in the proper and efficient manner; and keeps all storage closets clean and uncluttered.
  • Light maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Assists with seasonal activities, such as lawn care and snow removal as needed.

- Demonstrates correct stances, posture, alignment and technique during wellness consultation and healthy lifestyles sessions; Shows safe, effective ranges of motion and exercise control. Demonstrates strength and endurance maintaining role-model form throughout.
- Engage all members via meet/greet/acknowledge/touching base conversations.
