Description:

Maintains the cleanliness and general maintenance of the facility, both inside and out. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Cleans bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, program and office spaces and any other assigned areas by emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and

  • Performs specialized floor cleaning duties including, but not limited to stripping, scrubbing, polishing, buffing floors. Removing stains and cleaning carpets. Minor maintenance repairs and tasks as
  • Uses all cleaning supplies in the proper and efficient manner; and keeps all storage closets clean and uncluttered.

  • Reports any damage or needed repairs to equipment, property, etc. to supervisor

  • Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum age of 18 years

  • 2+ years cleaning
  • Current CPR PRO & First Aid

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Indoors and outdoors in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.
  • Mobility within the building including movement from floor to floor and outside the building.
  • Ability to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of the daily operational duties.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
