Wilton Birthday Party Lead

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides direct supervision of a group of children attending birthday parties. Creates a safe and positive atmospherethat welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Saturday and Sunday shifts available.

  • Serves as leader of party in absence of KidzCare/Party Supervisor.
  • Engages the birthday child, their families and guests
  • Supervises the activities of children and assists with programming. Performs general housekeeping tasks,

including set up and break down of the birthday party. Organizes and puts away needed equipment. Reports
damaged equipment.

  • Ensures the safety and well-being of each child under their supervision and maintains a creative and playful

atmosphere for all participants

  • Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
  • Mentors and leads Party Host 1. Assists with onboarding and training of new staff members.
  • Supports KidzCare/Party Supervisor with administrative duties, as assigned
  • Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.

Completes incident and accident reports as necessary

  • Enforces and leads all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, completes related reports as required
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps them connect with each other and the Y. Identifies potential volunteers. Trains and supervises volunteers as assigned
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and our three areas of focus: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility
  • Ability to articulate and model the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  • Attends all staff meetings and in-service training
  • Wear required and approved uniform items at all time

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • 2+ years childcare experience.
  • Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
