Outdoor Fitness and Lap Swimming

Outdoor Group Exercise Classes are now available at our Battenkill, Saratoga Springs, and Wilton branches. Classes include Yoga, Zumba, Cycle, and more! CLICK HERE to view the current outdoor exercise schedule.

The pool at our Saratoga Springs branch is also open for lap lane activities such as swimming, walking, and individual water exercise, by reservation only.


An active SRYMCA membership is required to participate in these activities.


Advanced Reservations are required to participate in these activities. In an effort to ensure a safe environment and maintain limited capacity, all outdoor fitness classes and pool lap swimming require a reservation using our mobile app or our online schedules page. Reservations open 48 hours before the start of each class and will remain open until 1 hour before class starts or until all spaces are filled. There’s no fee to sign up once you’ve reactivated your membership.

  • Class capacity is limited to up to 35 people, depending on the class
  • Reservations are required for all outdoor fitness classes using the Y Mobile App or our schedule’s web page (no walk-in or on-site reservations at this time)
  • Classes are only offered at the Saratoga Springs branch at this time
  • Classes will take place in one of four zones in the parking lots near the main entrance. Zone locations will be included in the class description when you reserve a spot (zone locations are shown in the diagram above). 
  • Class schedules are subject to change and may be canceled due to poor weather
  • Building access and locker rooms will not be available
  • Members are required to bring their own equipment (yoga mat, water bottle, towel, etc.)
  • Please keep all valuables home or locked in your car while participating

Check In When You Arrive

  • Check-in for outdoor group exercise classes will now take place at class by the instructor (outdoor group exercise participants do not need to check-in in the branch)
  • Members must sign a one-time membership waiver specific to COVID-19

Safety and Cleanliness

  • Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for equipment will be available
  • Face masks must be worn at all times except while exercising
  • Please social distance and keep a safe space between members and staff
  • Staff will disinfect equipment between classes
  • Please exit the exercise area immediately after class ends to eliminate social gatherings 


*Lane Activity includes swimming, walking, and individual water exercise.

  • We are following strict social distancing and reduced capacity guidelines
  • Building access is limited to the pool area only, for SRY members that have reserved a lap swimming only
  • Enter the pool area directly through the side entrance (see diagram)
  • In an effort to serve the most members possible at a lowered capacity, we ask that members limit their daily swim time to 30 minutes per day and enter and exit the pool at their reserved times
  • Reservations are required for lap swimming and can be made on our Y mobile app or our schedule’s web page (no walk-in or on-site reservations at this time)
  • Please keep all valuables home or locked in your car while participating
  • Please Note: Locker rooms are not available at this time. Since the reserved lane time per member is limited to 30 minutes, swimmers are encouraged to come dressed and ready to swim. A bathroom is available on the pool deck for members with a reserved swim lane.

Check In When You Arrive 

  • Arrive 15 minutes in advance to check-in
  • Members must sign a one-time membership waiver specific to COVID-19
  • Members must check-in and confirm lane reservation

Safety and Cleanliness

  • Face masks are not required while swimming, but will be required in common areas and on the pool deck
  • Members are required to rinse off in the shower on the pool deck before entering the pool
  • Lap swimming is limited to one person per lane to meet physical distancing requirements
  • Pool deck seating will be removed to prevent congregating
  • Members must bring all of their own equipment (towel, goggles, water bottle, kickboards, swim fins, pull buoys, paddles, fitness belts, etc.)
  • Members are asked to use our new one-way entrance and exit doors in the pool area
  • Steam Room, Sauna, and Whirlpool will all remain closed
  • All hard surfaces and touch points will be cleaned regularly

Pool Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 5:15 AM – 8:00 PM

(The pool will be closed from 12:45 PM – 3:30 PM for cleaning and to serve our youth Summer Care participants and Swim Team.)

  • Saturday & Sunday: 5:15 AM – 8:00 PM
