Reopening Guide

It has been a long journey since our mandated closure in March, but we are proud to say — we are now officially open!

MEMBERSHIP

All memberships will begin being drafted in September now that our facilities are open.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Malta, Saratoga Springs, and Wilton Branches 
Monday – Sunday: 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Battenkill Branch 
Monday – Friday: 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Corinth Branch
Monday – Friday: 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COMING TO THE Y

Our reopening plan prioritizes the health and well-being of our members, staff and the communities we serve, taking into account CDC guidelines and the guidelines and recommendations of state and local government authorities.

  • Mask Policy: Members and staff are required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose at all times. Gaiters, bandanas and buffs are not acceptable face coverings. If someone has a medical condition that prohibits them from wearing a mask they must wear a face shield.
  • Upon arrival, members will participate in a brief health screening, and then proceed to check-in, swiping your membership card or barcode on your app.
  • No guests passes or nationwide membership reciprocity will be accepted at this time.
  • The Saratoga Springs branch pool will be open for lap lane activity (including swimming, walking, and water exercise). Reservations are required to participate in lap lane activity. Hot tub, sauna and steam room will remain closed until further notice. 
  • Outdoor group exercise classes, and outdoor cardio areas, will continue weather permitting.
  • We're currently working with local health department to explore ways that we can offer indoor group exercise classes. Stay tuned for more details.
  • KidzCare will remain closed until further notice.
  • The YMCA will implement social or physical distancing practices in all operations by controlling capacity to 33% in all facilities, reconfiguring traffic patterns, and re-arranging physical areas and fitness equipment.
  • All non-bottle water filling drinking fountains will be out of use.
  • HVAC systems have been upgraded to have air filtration systems with MERV-13 filters.
  • Locker rooms will be open, but showers will be unavailable at this time.
  • All locker rooms and restrooms will be cleaned every two hours.
  • Social gathering spaces are closed (including tables and seating areas).
  • Running track at our Saratoga Springs branch will be open for use.
  • Members will be asked to clean equipment before and after each use.
  • Members will scan in and out in order to help the Y track capacity, and contact trace.
  • Coffee service will not be available at this time.
  • Tennis leagues at our Wilton Branch will resume soon. Stay tuned for more details.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Our reopening can and will be successful with members and Y staff working together. Help us maintain a safe environment by adhering to the following:

  • If you are sick, stay home. If you have a temperature, stay home. If someone in your house is sick, stay home. 
  • Pre-plan your workout routine and limit your visit to 60 minutes or less to allow other members to workout, due to reduced occupancy/distancing.
  • Limit the items you touch within the gyms to only the items you will use.
  • You are required to wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose at all times. You understand that gaiters, bandanas and buffs are not acceptable face coverings. If you have a medical condition that prohibits you from wearing a mask you must wear a face shield.
  • Wipe down each piece of equipment you use before and after use and dispose of the wipe appropriately.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water before and after you leave the building. If not possible, use hand sanitizer when you enter and before you leave the building.
  • Remember social distancing requirements in locker rooms.
  • Maintain appropriate social and physical distance from other members and employees when walking throughout the gyms to the best extent possible.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING

  • Please bring your Membership ID card (or mobile app)
  • A face covering/mask*
  • Water bottle
  • If participating in pool lap lane activity or outdoor group fitness classes, please bring personal gear needed such as goggles, yoga mat, etc.

*All individuals, including employees and patrons, are required to wear an acceptable face covering at all times, with the following exceptions: 1.) Individuals may be permitted to temporarily remove face coverings while eating or drinking, so long as they maintain 6 ft. of distance from others, 2.) Face coverings should not be worn in aquatic settings (e.g., pool, individual shower).
