As you may have heard by now, gyms have unexpectedly been excluded from phase 4 of the New York state reopening plan. This news has left us both shocked and disappointed.

In the weeks and months since our facilities were closed due to the public health concerns surrounding covid-19, our association has been working hard preparing for a safe and responsible reopening, as well as providing outreach and assistance to those most in need.

Our food drive campaign provided more than 15 tons of food to local families in need and that tremendous impact would not have been possible if not for the generosity of our membership. Our team has continued the important work of helping seniors stay healthy, active and connected to their Y community through phone wellness checks and virtual daily workouts.

We would like to thank our members that have been able to stay with us during this mandatory shutdown. Your support has made it possible for us to maintain our infrastructure and fixed costs that continue during this shutdown. Our commitment as a community organization has, and always will be to ensure that every member of our community has the resources and opportunities to maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit. Your unwavering support has, and continues to make this possible.

We will continue to prepare for the reopening of our YMCA and will also reevaluate fitness options, exploring the potential use of outdoor space. Please stay tuned for more information.

We look forward to the day we can once again welcome you through our doors. Until then, stay healthy, stay active and stay strong because we are STRONGER TOGETHER.
