Adventure Course

ADVENTURE BEGINS HERE!

Personal growth, increased self-esteem, and a heightened sense of one’s self is only the beginning.  Our Adventure Course offers team building initiatives and a low and high ropes course that encourage individuals to step out of their comfort zones through situation-based challenges that lead to positive group and self-discovery.

TEAM BUILDING (For participants 7 years +)
A strong team equals great potential. This is an opportunity for your group, be it business or pleasure, to participate in a selection of initiatives to inspire areas of leadership growth. Explore your group’s abilities for “Clear Open Communication”, “Strategic Thinking”, “Creative Problem Solving”, “Time Management”, “Collaboration”, “Integrity”, “Empowerment of Others”, and “Listening”. Enrich your group’s synergy by pushing them just a bit out of their comfort zone to embrace what could be accomplished as a high functioning team. Our staff will take time to develop a program based on those areas you wish to enhance.

LOWER LEVEL ADVENTURE COURSE (For participants 7 years + weighing between 65 and 250 lbs.)
The lower level of our Adventure Course offers an introductory experience just 12 feet off the ground. The five elements that make up the lower level, challenges an individual’s balance, core strength, and eye hand coordination. This is a great way to see if the aerial world is for you. You’ll get to traverse the “Burma Bridge”, coordinate the “Swinging Tires”, monkey across the “Cargo Net”, strut on the “Cat Walk” and cross the “Fence Posts”. Now that you have succeeded on the lower level you have choices. You can take the ultimate upper body strength challenge of our second advanced level, ascend to the top of the course so you can enjoy the view and a zip or head to the ground to do it again, scale our climbing wall or becoming a part of the cheering squad for those still in the air. The choice is yours, what will YOUR adventure course encounter be?

SECOND LEVEL ADVANCED COURSE (For participants 12 years + weighing between 65 and 250 lbs.)
If you are looking for a physical challenge, our second level is the answer. This level requires a good strong core and lots of upper body strength. Your journey begins with the “6x Block Walk” as you swing to the next platform, then find your Zen and cross the “Buddha Blocks”, it’s back to something familiar as you cross the “Cargo Net” once again only to be faced with the “Commando Crawl”. You are just about done, two more elements to go. Now it is time to negotiate the “Bosun’s Swings” once on the other side you will complete this task by braving a simple set of “Monkey Bars”. After defying level two it is up to the top for a zipping end to your aerial fun or it’s a ride on our “True Blue” down to the ground. Once on the ground you can choose to do it all one more time, enjoy something different on our climbing wall or support your group with cheers of encouragement.

GIANT’S LADDER (For participants 14 years + weighing between 65 and 250 lbs.)
This is a challenge built for a team. Working together you and a partner will climb to great heights while your ground crew keeps you safe. This challenge takes, clear communication creative problem solving, collaboration and strength to make it to the top. Upon reaching the top you will have the opportunity to enjoy the view from 35 feet before you are lowered back to the ground.

CLIMBING WALL (For participants 7 years + weighing between 65 and 250 lbs.)
The “Climbing Wall” located on the Adventure Course offers four ways up. Each way offers its own challenge. Set goals or head right to the top. When your reach the top reward yourself with a zip to the bottom or repel to the bottom to do it again.

ZIP LINE (For participants 7 years + weighing between 65 and 250 lbs.)
There is something very satisfying about zipping through the air, flying free. Our 300 foot zip from 32 feet in the air can be a wonderful way to reward yourself for all your hard work on the course. There are several choices that will get you to the top. Each Adventure

TRAVERSE WALL (For participants 5 years +)
If you feel the need to climb but like to be closer to the ground, our Traverse Wall is for you. The Bouldering wall gives you an opportunity to get the feel for a climbing wall. This challenge is not about up and over it is about round and round without touching the ground.

GA GA BALL (For participants 5 years +)
Fun and easy, Ga Ga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! Dubbed a kinder gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees. Players need to keep moving to avoid getting hit by the ball. Everyone can play; the nature of the game opens the field to kids and adults playing together.

ADVENTURE COURSE PACKAGES:

If you are a group of family, friends or colleagues looking to spend some time together in a unique way, we have what you are looking for. Put some zip into your outdoor play. All Adventure Course play packages include two hours to climb and zip, with one hour to party under our pavilion. Guests participating in the course need to be at least 7 years of age and between 65 and 250 pounds. An “Awareness of Risk and Release from Liability” form must be signed by all participants or by a parent or guardian for those under 18 years. We apologize in advance, but due to equipment quantity, we will not be able to accommodate any extra participants. Pizza is available for an additional fee.

Adventure Games (7 years +)

  • $200 for up to 20 participants
  • Two hours to play. Together participants will have an opportunity to run, play, laugh and have an all-around good time while working together to accomplish common goals.
  • There will be an additional $10 charge per participant over the original 20.

Leveling Up (7 years +)

  • $200 for up to 10 participants
  • Enjoy some outdoor fun that will challenge your guests with a distinctive shared experience. Will it be our Climbing Wall or our Lower Adventure Course, you choose.
  • There will be an additional $10 charge per participant over the original 10.

Taking It to the Top (7 years +)

  • $250 for up to 10 participants
  • Try something new, together. All participants should come ready to participate in an experience of climbing and personal challenge that will take you 10 to 35 feet above the ground. Experience the Adventure Course by combining the Lower Level and the Climbing Wall.
  • There will be an additional $12.50 charge per participant over the original 10.

Maximize the Adventure (12 years +)

  • $280 for up to 10 participants
  • Take on our physically challenging second level. Combine this with the lower level or the climbing wall to take your experience to that maximum degree.
  • There will be an additional $14 charge per participant over the original 10.

One Giant Step (14 years +) (recommended max. of 12 participants)

  • $280 for up to 10 participants
  • Are you ready to take on the unique partner challenge of the “Giant’s Ladder”?  Working together you and a partner will climb to great heights while your ground crew keeps you safe.
  • There will be an additional $14 charge per participant over the original 10.

Gigantic Strides (14 years +) (recommended max. of 12 participants)

  • $300 for up to 10 participants
  • Energized? After you tackle the Giant’s Ladder and you have more to give, try the climbing wall or the lower level for that bit of extra!
  • There will be an additional $15 charge per participant over the original 10.

Mission Accomplished (12 years +)

  • $300 for up to 10 participants
  • Your challenge should you choose to accept it, is to tackle all the elements the Adventure Course has to offer. Reach new heights three different ways. Will you start with the Lower Level, Upper Level or the Climbing Wall? No stress, you’ll have time to do all three.
  • There will be an additional $15 charge per participant over the original 10.

Add the Zip Line to your package for $5 per participant. There is fun to be had when you can end a party by zipping 300 feet through the air at speeds up to 20MPH.

The package prices listed are based on membership with the SRYMCA. For Non-Members add an additional $40.

COME PREPARED!

  • Bring a sense of adventure
  • Bring your signed “Awareness of Risk and Release from Liability”
  • Bring a full water bottle
  • You must have closed toe shoes – no sandals including Crocs and closed toe sandals
  • Dress weather appropriate – consider layers
  • For those venturing to the 2nd level, “tall socks” are recommended
  • Anything that dangles has the potential to get caught in equipment – please keep long hair tied back, avoid loose fitting clothing, and dangling jewelry
  • Be ready to listen and follow staff instructions
  • Remember safety is the key to a successful experience

 

OPEN CLIMBS:

OPEN CLIMBS (7+)  (formally known as Member Climbs)
Fun for everyone! Gather your friends and/or family and come climb with us! The course will be open for several open climb dates through the season to the end of October. Open climbs are available to the community, not just SRYMCA members. We will be on the course every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month in addition to other dates (see the calendar below for current climb dates). You can register on line to secure your climb in advance or sign up the day of if spots are available. Guests participating in the course need to be at least 7 years of age and between 65 and 250 pounds. An “Awareness of Risk and Release from Liability” form must be signed by all participants or by a parent or guardian for those under 18 years (For those participants younger than 18 an Authorization of Medical Treatment for Minors must also be completed). Any participant under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a great opportunity for the family to climb together.

Cost: $5 for Members and $20 for Non-Members.

The whole course is open for two hour climb blocks.
