Fall 1 Programs at the Wilton Branch

Gymnastics

 All gymnastics programs will take place in the Christopher Dailey Gymnastics Center at the Wilton Branch.   For more information, please contact Kim Hewitt at 518-587-3000 x158 or kim.hewitt@srymca.org.  

Gymnastics Attire:   Athletic, tight fitting attire, no baggy clothes.  Gymnastics leotards recommended, but not required.  Shoes and socks must be removed.  Jewelry must be removed.  Long hair must be pulled back.     

Gymnastics Room Policies:

  • Masks are required for all participants age 5-12.   
  • Make ups for missed classes are not offered due to limited class sizes, and child safety. 
  • Children under age 10 must have an adult in the room or in the hallway outside the room during their class time. 
  • All members must scan in and out at the front desk before and after each class.   
  • Please bring your own water bottle to class.

 

Tiny Tumblers for 2-year olds:

This once a week, 30-minute parent and tot program is the perfect introduction to group classes for your little one!  This program will help your child develop balance, coordination, body awareness and motor skills while gaining confidence in their movements!  Children will practice valuable preschool skills such as listening to the teacher, following directions, sharing equipment, and taking turns.  A parent or adult helper is required to stay with their child and assist them throughout the class.  Siblings may not be on the floor with the class participant unless registered for the class.

Tiny Tumblers for 3-year olds:

This once a week, 30-minute program further develops your child’s motor skills and confidence while working our preschool sills.  Parent participation is encouraged, and may sometimes be required when extra guidance is needed.

Preschool Gymnastics for 4 and 5-year olds:

Our preschool gymnastics class is a little longer to accommodate our growing attention spans.  Children will expand their motor skills while preparing to learn some beginner level 1 gymnastics skills.  We will expand their use of equipment adding some additional time exploring the balance beam and the bars.   This program includes valuable kindergarten skills such as large group time, following direction and cooperating with others.

School Age Beginner Gymnastics (5-10 years):

For those children who wish to learn the foundation of the sport of gymnastics.  This class will focus on building self-confidence, strength, flexibility and balance.  Great for Preschool gymnasts to transition into our school age program.  Also, for beginners with no experience, or experienced gymnasts who need to improve on basic gymnastics skills.

Intermediate Gymnastics (6-10 years):

For experienced gymnasts who have mastered the foundations of the beginner class on all events.  Students will continue to gain confidence while learning skill progressions as well as improving coordination, strength and flexibility.  Pre-requisites include: forward and backward rolls, a straight arm bridge, a cartwheel, a handstand, and gymnastics class experience on the bars and beam.

Advanced Gymnastics (age 7 and up – by instructor recommendation):

For gymnasts who have mastered the intermediate level skills on the floor, bars, beam and tumble track.  Gymnasts will continue to work on form and technique while learning new skills.  Pre-requisites include: the back walkover on floor, the pullover and back hip circle on the bars, and a handstand on the beam.

Teen Gymnastics (age 11 and up):

Middle and high school students improve balance, flexibility, strength and improve confidence through tumbling and gymnastics!  All skill levels are welcome, instruction will be geared towards the individual.

Adult Drop in Gymnastics (age 16 and up):

Improve your balance, coordination, flexibility and strength through gymnastics.  Learn new skills in a fun class for adults of all experience levels.  Learn tumbling, tumble track, bars, balance beam, vaulting and more!  Sign-ups for each class start at 7am online, or you can pay at the Wilton Branch front desk.  Class Is limited to 10 adults per class.  Please bring a receipt up to the gym to participate.

Golf Programs

 

MENS INDOOR GOLF LEAGUE:
This league will begin the week of September 12h, 2021 and run until the week of October 31st, 2021 at the SRYMCA Wilton Branch.  The league will be stroke play and individual competition with the season concluding with a low gross and low net winner. Each player will play a 9-hole round at a pre-selected course listed below.

Individuals will play the 9-hole round at any time and on any day during that week.  Players may not make up a week by playing a previous week’s course, however, if a player knows there is a week they will not be able to make, the individual can play the course in ADVANCE.

Reservations of the simulator are required.  Please call the Front Desk at the Wilton Branch at 518.587.3000 to schedule your tee time.

Men’s Price:  $100 per player*

 

WOMENS INDOOR GOLF LEAGUE:
This league will begin the week of September 12h, 2021 and run until the week of October 31st, 2021 at the SRYMCA Wilton Branch.  The league will consist of two-person teams of women who will play a pre-selected course each week through the end of the league.  

Teams will play the 9-hole round at any time and on any day during that week.  Teams may not make up a week by playing a previous week’s course, however, if you know there is a week our team will not be able to make, the team can play the course in ADVANCE.

Golf Simulator Rentals:

Our Simulator at the Wilton Branch is one of the best in the industry. Our Foresight Sports GCQUAD launch monitor can be seen weekly on the PGA Tour. With state-of-the-art technology alongside a lifelike course experience, you will surely enjoy everything the simulator has to offer. Play courses like Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, St. Andrews and more.

Youth Sports

 

Youth Baseball

This 7-week program is designed to introduce the rules and skills of baseball at a basic level, including infield training, outfield, pitching, batting, base running, and learning the rules of baseball. This program is designed for all skill levels. No prior experience is needed in order to participate. Participants should bring a glove, a bat and a helmet to each session.

Youth Baseball (ages 6-8): Thursdays 4:30pm – 5:15pm

 

Fall Volleyball League

This is a 4 vs. 4 Volleyball League that will be hosted in the field house at the Wilton YMCA. Games will be played to 25 and will be best 2 out of 3. Each team will play two matches a night. Participants must be 15 years or older.

Pricing:

Members: $30

Non-members $60

Times: September 13th – October 31st

Tuesday nights from 6pm – 9pm

 

Youth Basketball

This is a 7-week program designed to introduce basketball skills and the rules of the game. The skills highlighted include passing, dribbling, shooting, defending, while also incorporating teamwork with their peers. This program is designed for all skill levels. No prior experience is required for participation.

Bocce League

This is a 7-week bocce league that will be hosted in the field house at the Wilton YMCA. Participants will be paired up with a different partner every week and will compete against other members in games to 11.

HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Small Group Training!  Limited class sizes ensure that you receive individualized instruction to promote progression of performance and ensure safety, without the cost of one-on-one sessions. There are many options to suit the needs for every fitness level, including:


WOMEN ON WEIGHTS:

This 7-week program teaches women proper weight-lifting etiquette, technique and routine. The goals of Women on Weights are to assist women in improving posture, increasing strength and losing body mass. You'll see both an increase in strength and a positive transformation to your body! Each class size limited to 8. Located in the ATC.

AOA ON WEIGHTS:

This NEW 7-week program is designed just for Active Older Adults!  Under the guidance of a Certified Personal Trainer, sessions will consist of total body workouts using free weights, resistance and body weight training.  The trainer will give instruction on form and how to maximize the benefits of your workout through strength training.  Each class size limited to 8.  Located in the ATC.

MEN’S STRENGTH TRAINING:

This NEW 7-week program is perfect for those interested in learning more about strength training. Join this small group training program led by a Certified Personal Trainer to learn proper mechanics and form.  The trainer will create a weight lifting program to help you meet your fitness goals, whether it is gaining muscle mass, decreasing body fat percentage or increasing strength and endurance.  Each class size limited to 8. Located in the ATC.

MOVE FOR BALANCE:

This strength class takes you through a variety of exercises designed for active older adults to help with activities of daily living. This class features bodyweight and single-side movements focused on targeting muscle imbalances and increasing overall balance and coordination! Each class size is limited to 10 to maintain individualized instruction and modifications. Located in the Field House.

MET CON 60:

This NEW 60-minute Metabolic Conditioning training program is a fast paced, high intensity workout that will test your strength, endurance, and cardiovascular capacity to have the maximal impact on your fitness level.  Led by Certified Personal Trainers you will be instructed on proper form and technique, while simultaneously coached and motivated to challenge yourself each and every session.  Each class size is limited to 24 participants, with two coaches.  Located in the Field House.

PEAK CONDITIONING:

Have you ever thought about mountain climbing as an enjoyable and adventurous fitness activity? This small group training is designed via targeted muscle strengthening, balance, and cardio exercises to give you the ability to climb the beautiful peaks of the Adirondacks. The class will culminate with an instructor-led group hike to an Adirondack peak. The Fall session outing will explore one of the Adirondack Low Peaks.  Mountain hiking gear (footwear, clothing, pack, essentials) will be introduced and discussed. No mountain climbing experience is necessary. Be aware this is NOT a rock-climbing class.  Located in the ATC.

R.A.W. Training (Ropes and Weights):

You will find this NEW 45-minute small group training to give you the maximum calorie burn in minimal time.  Led by a Certified Strength & Conditioning Instructor, you can expect a dynamic warm-up, followed by 20-30 minutes of work with heavy ropes and weights, and end your session with a well-deserved 10-15 minute cooldown and stretch.
