Spring 2 Programs at the Wilton Branch

Gymnastics and Cheerleading Programs

All gymnastics programs will take place in the Christopher Dailey Gymnastics Center at the Wilton Branch.   For more information, please contact Kim Hewitt at 518-587-3000 x158 or kim.hewitt@srymca.org.  

Gymnastics Attire: Athletic, tight fitting attire please, no baggy clothes for safety.  Gymnastics leotards recommended, but not required.  Shoes and socks must be removed.  Jewelry must be removed.  Long hair must be pulled back.     

Gymnastics Room Policies:

  • Masks are required for all participants over age 2. 
  • Class observation is limited to a maximum of 1 visitor per participant. 
  • Make ups for missed classes are not offered due to limited class sizes, and child safety. 
  • Children under age 10 must have an adult in the room or in the hallway outside the room during their class time. 
  • All members must scan in and out at the front desk before and after each class.   
  • Please bring your own water bottle – water fountains are currently turned off.
  • Please have participant use the hand sanitizer before and after each class, and during water breaks. 

Tiny Tumblers for 2-year olds:
This once a week, 30-minute parent and tot program is the perfect introduction to group classes for your little one!  This program will help your child develop balance, coordination, body awareness and motor skills while gaining confidence in their movements!  Children will practice valuable preschool skills such as listening to the teacher, following directions, sharing equipment, and taking turns.  A parent or adult helper is required to stay with their child and assist them throughout the class.  Siblings may not be on the floor with the class participant unless registered for the class.

Tiny Tumblers for 3-year olds:
This once a week, 30-minute program further develops your child’s motor skills and confidence while working our preschool sills.  Parent participation is encouraged, and may sometimes be required when extra guidance is needed.

Preschool Gymnastics for 4 and 5-year olds:
Our preschool gymnastics class is a little longer to accommodate our growing attention spans.  Children will expand their motor skills while preparing to learn some beginner level 1 gymnastics skills.  We will expand their use of equipment adding some additional time exploring the balance beam and the bars.   This program includes valuable kindergarten skills such as large group time, following direction and cooperating with others.

School Age Beginner Gymnastics (5-10 years):
For those children who wish to learn the foundation of the sport of gymnastics!  This class will focus on building self-confidence, strength, flexibility and balance.  Great for beginners with no experience, or experienced gymnasts who need to improve on basic gymnastics skills.

Intermediate Gymnastics (6-10 years):
For experienced gymnasts who have mastered the foundations of the beginner class on all events.  Students will continue to gain confidence while learning skill progressions as well as improving coordination, strength and flexibility.  Pre-requisites include: forward and backward rolls, a straight arm bridge, a cartwheel, a handstand, and gymnastics class experience on the bars and beam.

Advanced Gymnastics (age 7 and up – by instructor recommendation):
For gymnasts who have mastered the intermediate level skills on the floor, bars, beam and tumble track.  Gymnasts will continue to work on form and technique while learning new skills.  Pre-requisites include: the back walkover on floor, the pullover and back hip circle on the bars, and a handstand on the beam.

Teen Gymnastics (age 11 and up):
Middle and high school students improve balance, flexibility, strength and improve confidence through tumbling and gymnastics!  All skill levels are welcome, instruction will be geared towards the individual.

Introduction to Competitive Cheer:
This class is to introduce the sport of competitive cheer by developing and implementing cheer techniques for all ages and skill levels.  Skills include tumbling, stunting, motion placements, dance, and jump technique. Classes will be broken down by age groups and skill level. No experience necessary. Please arrive with a positive attitude, water bottle, and indoor only cheerleading sneakers.  Masks are required. 

  • Age 5-10 – Sundays 4pm to 6pm
  • Age 11 and up – Sundays 6pm to 8pm

Youth Sports

Youth Baseball (ages 6-8):
This 7-week program is designed to introduce the rules and skills of baseball at a basic level, including infield training, outfield, pitching, batting, base running, and learning the rules of baseball. This program is designed for all skill levels. No prior experience is needed in order to participate. Participants should bring a glove, a bat and a helmet to each session. 

  • Monday's 4:30pm - 5:15pm

Youth Basketball (ages 5-7):
This is a 7-week program designed to introduce basketball skills and the rules of the game. The skills highlighted include passing, dribbling, shooting, defending, while also incorporating teamwork with their peers. This program is designed for all skill levels. No prior experience is required for participation. 

  • Saturdays 10:30am - 11:00am
  • Members $40
  • Non-Members $70 

Youth Basketball (ages 8-10):

Tennis Programs

Clinics: Learn the proper ball striking to improve your game.

All Levels Adult

Health & Wellness Programs

Women on Weights:
This 7 WEEK program teaches women proper weight-lifting etiquette, technique and routine. The goals of Women on Weights are to assist women in improving posture, increasing strength and losing body mass. You'll see both an increase in strength and a positive transformation to your body! Plus, you'll be given a notebook to track your workouts and witness your success!

Move for Balance:
This strength class takes you through a variety of exercises designed for active older adults to help with activities of daily living. This class features bodyweight and single-side movements focused on targeting muscle imbalances and increasing overall balance and coordination! Class size is limited to 10 to maintain individualized instruction and modifications. Located in the Field House.
