SRYMCA's USTA 2.5 Team Competes at Nationals

The Slice Girls started as a group of beginners who joined together to form a team in the YMCA women's USTA 2.5 league. Hard work at weekly practices and a great team dynamic led to an a 8-1 Northern Region record and an invitation to Sectionals.

At Sectionals, the Slice Girls faced the best teams in the state and went undefeated.  The Slice Girls were very tough competitors, winning 5 of 6 tiebreakers to win Eastern Sectionals and receive an invitation to Nationals in Las Vegas! This was the first time in over 8 years that a 2.5 team from Northern won a Sectional title.

At Nationals our ladies fought hard, but did not advance out of group play to finish in the top 10.  Our Slice Girls had an amazing time, bonded as a team and are excited for next year as they will compete at the 3.0 league level.
