Saratoga Regional YMCA Gives Back for the Holidays through Giving Tree

December 23, 2024

The Saratoga Regional YMCA (SRYMCA) is spreading holiday cheer this season with its expanded Giving Tree program, making a meaningful impact on families in need.

A beloved tradition at the Y, Giving Tree brings together the generosity of our members and the spirit of giving. Each of our six branches launched their Giving Trees the week before Thanksgiving, adorned with ornaments listing the holiday Wishlists of local families.

This year, Giving Tree supported 44 families, a total of 114 children. Of these, 42 families (104 children) were part of SRYMCA’s financial assistance program and applied for holiday support. We’re thrilled to share that every child’s wishlist was adopted and fulfilled by our incredible membership community.

In addition, two families (10 children) were adopted from the Franklin Community Center, and their wishlists were fulfilled thanks to a generous shopping grant from Kohl’s and the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and staff during a shopping night at the Kohl’s in Wilton, NY.

Giving Tree is a shining example of the YMCA’s commitment to making a positive impact on our community. Thank you to all the members, volunteers and staff who participated and spread joy this holiday season. Together, we’re making a difference, one family at a time.
