The Glens Falls Y Becomes the Sixth Branch of the Saratoga Regional YMCA Association

Saratoga Springs, NY, January 1, 2025 — The Saratoga Regional YMCA and the Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area are pleased to announce that the Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area is set to join the Saratoga Regional YMCA as one of its six branches.

This partnership builds on a two-year management agreement during which the Saratoga Regional YMCA supported the Glens Falls YMCA’s operations and finances. The collaboration has highlighted the strengths and shared values of both organizations, leading to the decision for the Glens Falls YMCA to formally join the Saratoga Regional YMCA.

With this addition, the Saratoga Regional YMCA will now include the following branches:

• Battenkill
• Corinth
• Glens Falls
• Malta
• Saratoga Springs
• Wilton

Together, these six branches serve over 38,000 individuals across Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties, supported by more than 600 staff members.

Scott Clark, CEO of the Saratoga Regional YMCA, shared his enthusiasm: “We are excited to welcome the Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area to our association. This step represents a significant opportunity to invest in the Glens Falls facility, enhancing our ability to serve the community better. We look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and providing even more resources and support to our members. We are also proud to say that no reductions in force will be implemented or considered during this process. This expansion is focused on growth, maintaining the strength of both organizations, and ensuring we continue providing the highest level of service to our communities.”

Brian Corcoran, President of the Glens Falls YMCA Board of Directors, added: “The Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area has been a pillar of the Glens Falls community for over 130 years. The Board of Directors is excited to announce that the addition of the Glens Falls YMCA to the Saratoga Regional YMCA association should allow us to serve the needs of our community for another 100 years. COVID and the subsequent years took a toll on the membership and finances of the Glens Falls YMCA, but working with both the Capital District YMCA and Saratoga Regional YMCA the past several years has allowed us to regain our footing and increase the offerings to our area residents. The affiliation with the Saratoga Regional YMCA and its resources and expertise will allow for increased programming and a refreshed and modernized facility originally built in 1969 for all to enjoy.”

As part of this exciting new chapter, the Saratoga Regional YMCA is launching a $6 million capital campaign to modernize the Glens Falls YMCA. This project will focus on improving the member experience, upgrading the facility, and expanding programs and services to better meet the needs of the Glens Falls community. By investing in these enhancements, the Y aims to serve even more individuals and families and solidify its role as a cornerstone of community health and wellness.

This expansion strengthens the mission to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, ensuring a seamless transition for members, staff, and the communities served.
