Day of Giving Celebration Kicks Off 2025 Annual Campaign
Saratoga Springs, NY — On Monday, March 3, the Saratoga Regional YMCA launched its 2025 Annual Campaign with a successful and lively Day of Giving celebration. Staff and volunteers came together to engage the community, share the YMCA's mission, and raise funds for programs that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Thanks to the generosity of 465 donors, the event raised nearly $30,000 to benefit individuals and families across Saratoga, Washington, and Warren counties.
The Y’s Annual Campaign provides financial assistance to those in need, enabling thousands of community members to access wellness programs, childcare, youth sports, summer camps, and more. One such individual is Angel, a financial assistance recipient, who shared her personal story of how the YMCA helped her regain mobility and confidence after suffering a stroke.
"After suffering a stroke, my finances, body, and spirit were depleted. The Y gave me a free membership and support in my rehabilitation, restoring my mobility, confidence, and freedom—without putting me further into debt. The care I receive here is truly life-changing," said Angel.
In 2024, the YMCA granted over $1.2 million in financial assistance, helping those in need access everything from memberships and youth programs to evidence-based wellness initiatives. With the recent addition of the Family YMCA of Glens Falls, the demand for financial assistance has continued to grow.
“The Saratoga Regional YMCA now serves over 39,000 individuals across our three counties. Many of our members rely on our financial assistance programs to stay healthy, access childcare, and combat chronic illnesses,” said Scott Clark. “The support we receive from the community is essential to continue providing these life-changing services.”
To commemorate the Day of Giving, each of the six YMCA branches hosted unique fundraising activities, including cycling for dollars at the Glens Falls branch and a Group Ex competition at the Wilton branch. Staff and volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the day to engage members and raise funds, ultimately reaching the collective goal of $30,000.
This year, the YMCA is aiming to raise $600,000. To kickstart the campaign, staff and board members have already contributed over $100,000. The funds raised will support a variety of Y programs, ensuring that no one is turned away due to financial hardship.
