Members who are listed as registered sex offenders will have their membership terminated for the safety of the children and families in our facility. We reserve the right to do background checks on members.

Members and guests are encouraged to be responsible for their personal comfort and safety. A member or guest who feels unsafe or uncomfortable should report the situation to a staff person.

Our Commitment to a Safe Environment

The Saratoga Regional YMCA strictly prohibits membership or participation in any of its facilities, programs, or services by individuals who are registered sex offenders. If an existing member is convicted of a sex offense, their membership will be immediately terminated, and access to all Saratoga Regional YMCA properties and programs will be revoked. To enforce this policy, the Saratoga Regional YMCA conducts regular screenings:

  • Level 2 and Level 3 offenders are identified through our CRM system.
  • Level 1 offenders are screened through the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Office of Sex Offender Management.

The YMCA reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has ever been legally accused, charged, or convicted of any offense relating to the use of a weapon, or sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit forming and/or dangerous drugs, or is presently or habitually under the influence of dangerous drugs or chemicals, narcotics, or intoxicating beverages.
