Saratoga Regional YMCA kicks off its 2023 Annual Campaign

March 13, 2023

The Saratoga Regional YMCA officially launched its Annual Campaign on Monday, March 13th at its Malta YMCA location. The goal of the Y’s Annual Campaign is to ensure that every community member, regardless of financial standing, has access to vital programs and services that promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Each year, the Saratoga Regional YMCA aims to support members from all walks of life, providing a safe space built on programs that promote health and wellness across the board. After two years of trials and tribulations operating during a global pandemic, the Y is coming into this year’s campaign with the goal to do more, and be more for its community.

In 2022, the YMCA used its generous donations to impact thousands of its community members by giving out $650,000 in financial assistance to those in need—over 2,300 individuals across the association. These scholarships went to supporting costs for membership, summer camp, youth programs, childcare and evidence-based wellness programs. This year, the Y hopes to greatly increase its impact through donations made to the Annual Campaign.

Services offered by the YMCA, such as the Malta Y’s Early Learning Center for childcare and youth development, have positively impacted families in needs for years. Just in the last year, over 1,200 kids had access to the Y’s childcare programs, with many parents in need of safe childcare while they work to provide for their family. One financial assistance recipient’s mother has been grateful to have support for her children at the Malta Early Learning Center. “From the first moment we stepped foot into the Early Learning Center, we were certain that we wanted to enroll our children and were thrilled to hear about the possibility of financial assistance.”

The Malta Early Learning Center provides childcare programming from infant into preschool, offering a safe, nurturing and fun environment for kids to learn, grow and thrive. “Everyone, from the directors to the teachers and everyone in between, go so far above and beyond,” the financial assistance recipient’s mother said. “We feel extremely fortunate to be able to provide this high quality, educational experience for our children, and thank the Y for allowing us this opportunity.”

Support of the 2023 Annual Campaign not only helps the Y continue funding its critical programs and services, but also helps to impact families like these gain access to safe childcare programming without the worry of cost. This year, the Saratoga Regional Y hopes to raise $400,000. The association’s staff and board of directors have already donated over $60,000 to kick off the campaign. The Annual Campaign provides lifechanging experiences to strength our shared community through YMCA childcare, summer camp, aquatics, sports, wellness and many other vital programs and services, assuring that no one is turned away due to lack of funds.
