HALFMOON, NY – October 1st, 2023 - The Saratoga Regional YMCA was selected as a benefactor of Everyday Warriors’ annual charity golf event, and received $10,000 from the organization to support their shared mission and values.

The Everyday Warriors Foundation, a capital-region based chapter of the Stand Up and Play Foundation, is a local charitable organization made up of veterans, disabled people and their families. The goal of this foundation is to support other local non-for-profits that greatly benefit their shared community and fall into one of the following categories: Disabled People, Veterans, and/or At-Risk Children and Families. Hundreds of people gathered for Everyday Warriors’ Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, August 7th at the Fairways of Halfmoon to play golf and support these groups in need. This year, Everyday Warriors chose the Saratoga Regional YMCA as one of its benefactors, along with the Schenectady City Mission and the Albany Housing Authority.

The Everyday Warriors Foundation’s major gift was presented by its president, Mark Boucher, his family, and several other volunteers and organization members. Boucher is eager for this gift to be used to served underprivileged children and struggling families that need the YMCA’s programs and services.

Associate Vice President of Development and Operations, Allison D’Antonio, and Fundraising Coordinator Kirstin Swartz, received the $10,000 check on Saturday, September 9th at the Fairways of Halfmoon. “Every family and every child deserve access to the YMCA’s vital programs, regardless of a parent’s ability to pay,” D’Antonio stated.  “Our goal as a community hub is to be open and available to members from all walks of life.”

This major gift to the Saratoga Regional Y’s Annual Campaign will directly support the youth and families in need that benefit from the Y’s financial assistance program. In 2022, over $650,000 was given over to near 2,300 individuals to support their membership, childcare or programming costs. The YMCA has already surpassed that amount in the aid they’ve given to date in 2023, and aims to one day grant $1,000,000 or more yearly across its five branches.
