Saratoga Springs Branch
Y Volunteers lead book drive and trail clean-up on the trail to the State Park
Thank you to everyone who helped with the recent TOGETHERHOOD book drive for the Saratoga Children's Literacy League and trail clean up outside the Saratoga Springs branch leading to the State Park.
Our book drive collected over 6,000 books from 3 of our branches!!!! That's a fantastic number! We had 2 book cleaning/mending sessions to make the books look like new and had about a dozen volunteers at each session. Thank you for taking the time to help make these books ready for new children to appreciate and enjoy!
Several Members joined forces on May 23rd to clean the local state park trail that leads from the Saratoga Springs YMCA to the park. They were able to collect several bags of debris from the area.
Thank you, Togetherhood Committee, for another successful volunteer effort.
TOGETHERHOOD is the Y's signature program for its commitment to Social Responsibility.
At the Y, we are dedicated to strengthening the community by giving back and supporting our neighbors. Members are able to share ideas and plan projects that have a direct and positive impact on our community.
The TOGETHERHOOD committee includes 10 local Saratoga Y members and is led by two co-chairs. Each year the committee identifies, plans and implements four service projects.
The TOGETHERHOOD Committee is always looking for members interested in volunteering. To join the TOGETHERHOOD committee please contact Steve Butler, Associate Vice President of Saratoga at steve.butler@srymca.org or call 518-583-9622, ext.118.
