NOTE: Classes, dates, times and pricing are subject to change without notice. *For everyone’s safety, children under the age of ten cannot be left unattended in any area of the YMCA; parents or guardians must remain with them at all times.
LITTLE KICKERS SOCCER ON THE FIELD (3-4 years)
This class is a great introduction to the sport of soccer. Coaches lead players in games and drills designed to introduce basic skills such as passing, dribbling, defense, and shooting. This program encourages parental involvement to coach, guide and assist their children in developing knowledge and skills necessary to enhance their progress. Children should wear sneakers. Shinguards are not required.
MINI KICKERS SOCCER ON THE FIELD (5-6 years)
This is a soccer program for both boys and girls which focuses on playing as a team and skill development. Y staff and volunteer coaches lead players in games and drills designed to introduce basic skills such as kicking, passing, dribbling and shooting on goal. Parents are encouraged to be more than spectators by participating as volunteer coaches as well as being their child’s biggest fan. Children should wear sneakers and bring a water bottle. Shinguards are not required.
LITTLE SHOTS BASKETBALL (4-5 years)
This program is an introduction for boys and girls who are interested in basketball. Through play, participants will discover the fundamentals of basketball – dribbling, passing, shooting – and build muscle memory while increasing their hand/eye coordination. Players will learn in a supportive, safe, and noncompetitive environment where focus is on learning the game, meeting new friends, and having fun. The last class of the session will be a scrimmage that parents are welcome to participate in! Min. 4; Max. 10
MINI SHOTS BASKETBALL (6-7 years)
This program is for boys and girls who are interested in basketball. Using basketball drills, they will learn the fundamentals of basketball – dribbling, passing, shooting – and build muscle memory while increasing their hand/eye coordination. Players will learn in a supportive, safe, and non-competitive environment where focus is on learning the game, meeting new friends, and having fun.
SMALL SHOTS BASKETBALL (8-9 years)
This program is designed for boys and girls to develop fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, offense, and defense. Players will learn in a supportive, safe, and non-competitive environment where focus is on learning the game, meeting new friends, and having fun.
JUNIOR SHOTS BASKETBALL (10-13 years)
This program is designed for boys and girls to develop fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, offense, and defense. Players will learn in a supportive, safe, and non-competitive environment where focus is on learning the game, meeting new friends, and having fun.
LITTLE SPORTS OF ALL SORTS (3-5 years)
This program will give your child the opportunity to learn and play a variety of different sports each week. Parents are encouraged to participate in the program with their child.
YOUTH BEGINNER VOLLEYBALL (10-14 years)
This is a co-ed program where the focus is on fundamentals and the basics of volleyball. Setting, bumping, positioning, and different strategies will be practiced.
YOUTH INTERMEDIATE VOLLEYBALL (10-14 years)
This is a co-ed program where the focus is on gameplay and advanced skills such as tips, blocks, inter-net play, and spiking. We reserve the right to evaluate and switch participants to the beginner class if they do not have successful basic over-the-net play. Min. 4; Max. 12
BASKETBALL LEAGUES
OVER 50 BASKETBALL LEAGUE (50+ years)
The SRYMCA kicks off the 11th year of its Over 50 Basketball League. All players will be assigned to a team. Games will not be played on holidays or during the school’s recess weeks. SARATOGA REGIONAL YMCA/SARATOGA HONDA YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Interested in becoming a Volunteer Coach? The YMCA utilizes volunteer coaches to focus on participation and fun! In our sports programs every child learns sportsmanship and values necessary to be successful in life. Build long-lasting relationships while sharing your time and talents with others in our YMCA. Use your talents to encourage, guide and train young athletes at the Y and together we can build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
