EVENTS

Parent’s Night Out I (8 weeks to 6 years)
Parent’s Night Out is an opportunity for parents to have a Saturday night out! Bring back date night, ladies or guys night out, or movie night. Every Parent’s Night Out, we will be serving pizza, snack size fruit and/or vegetables for older children and a drink. If you pack P.J.’s, we will gladly dress your child before pick-up. Children will enjoy games, crafts and play. 

Parent’s Night Out II (7-10 years)
We also have spaces available for 7 to 10 year olds with age-appropriate activities. 

Little Elves Workshop (3-10 years)
Bring your little elves to the Saratoga Branch to make two take home gifts. We will provide play time, snack and two gifts that they will make themselves. This is also a great time for you to catch up on your holiday shopping while your children make their own gifts to give. Please register at the Member Service Desk. Reservations are closed 48 hours prior to Little Elves Workshop and space is limited.

Sunday Shoppers (2 years-10 years)
Are your children bored with shopping? Bring them to our Sunday Shoppers program while mom and dad run errands, do their weekly grocery shopping, or visit the shops downtown! Children will enjoy free play, crafts, and snack time. Please register at the Member Service Desk.

KIDS NIGHT (8-14 years)
The Saratoga Regional YMCA is offering Kids Night and Teen Night on certain Saturdays of the month, from 6:30pm-9:30pm, at our Saratoga Springs Branch. On these Saturdays the Saratoga Springs Branch shuts down and is only open to participants and select staff. Kids and Teens will be able to hang out with friends while parents and guardians have a worry free Saturday night to themselves. Each Saturday, there will be a special activity such as dodgeball, scatter ball, basketball, etc. as well as use of the pool, fitness center, and cyber café. We encourage participants to bring a friend(s) with them.

All participants must be signed out at the end of the program. If a participant drives to the program, they will be allowed to sign themselves out. Program ends promptly at 9:30pm. Any participants still at the program after 9:30pm will be given one warning, after that will result in suspension and a late fee of $5 for the first 15 minutes and a dollar for every minute thereafter.

All participants are expected to follow the Saratoga Regional YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Any infractions will be dealt with by YMCA staff and can result in suspension from the program.

 

PROGRAMS

BABYSITTING CERTIFICATION COURSE (11-15 years)
The Saratoga Regional YMCA is offering this one day American Red Cross certified course. It is open to youth ages 11 to 15 and includes all materials and their certification. Be sure to bring a lunch. Participants are encouraged to volunteer for 6 hours in the KidzCare Room at the Saratoga Springs or Wilton Branches, following completion of the course. FAMILY FUN NIGHT (any age, parents must be present)
Come join us for a fun filled Friday night for FREE. This program is open to the community and includes family gym time with games, pool and track time, as well as arts and crafts in the café. Parent supervision is mandatory.

YOUTH & FAMILY
Below are the programs that are being offered for Youth & Family at the Saratoga Springs Branch. Please contact Paige Minear at 518-583-9622 ext. 120 or paige.minear@srymca.org for more information regarding the following programs. NOTE: Classes, dates, times and pricing are subject to change without notice. *For everyone’s safety, children under the age of ten cannot be left unattended in any area of the YMCA; parents or guardians must remain with them at all times.

 

GOJU RYU KARATE (8+ years)
Learn strength and discipline, while improving balance and coordination, from a Certified Goju Ryu Karate Instructor. The program is designed for participants with mixed abilities and interests in the martial arts who wish to earn promotion through their performance, attendance and testing. Fun, disciplined martial arts program for all abilities, levels and member interests. Please inquire for more details. 

 

YOUTH ACTION (13-18 years)
If you are looking for ways to earn hours for National Honor Society, Participation in Government, looking to spruce up your college application, or just want to volunteer then this program is for you. Youth will volunteer for fun programs of their choosing to help earn their hours and become strong members of their community.

Tutoring (13-18 years)
The SRYMCA offers FREE tutoring for 5th-12th graders, based upon availability with the option of being wait-listed. Tutoring sessions are one hour long. After 4 weeks there will be an evaluation by the tutor to determine is their is still a need. One week notice is needed to begin.

Saturday Night Kids Klub 
Will run on certain Saturdays of the month and is only open to participants and select staff. Kids and teens will be able to hang out with friends while parents and guardians have a worry free Saturday night. Special activities include dodge-ball, basketball, use of the pool, fitness center and cyber cafe.

Music, Dance & Movement
The fundamentals of rhythm are reinforced with listening and musical games. Ballet movements, positions, and combinations are explored.  We ask that parents sit outside of the room so children can better focus on the dance instruction and so they are available if needed. Parents will be welcomed in on the last day of class to watch.

ROC-N-TOTS (18-24 months and 2-3 years)
Roc-N-Tots offers an introduction to movement and music for growing minds and bodies, ages 18 months through 3 years. 
Saratoga Springs Branch, Toohey Multi Purpose Room

ROC-N-KIDZ (3-5 years)
Roc-N-Kidz offers an introduction to movement and music for growing minds and bodies, ages 4 through 7 years. It’s a fun mix of circle songs, free dance, marching and imagination that your child will talk about all week!

TINY TUTUS (3-5 years)
This class builds on the basics of ballet. Imaginative and creative movements are used to form a passion for dance. Ballet movements, positions, and combinations are explored. The fundamentals of rhythm are reinforced with listening and musical games.  

 

TWINKLE TOES (4-6 years)
This class is two programs in one. Ballet fundamentals are improved, while establishing tap basics. Tap steps will develop balance and coordination. Creative movement is utilized to foster body awareness. Musical games and listening exercises help to increase rhythm.
