THE CLASSES BEING OFFERED ARE:

  • AOA Strength & Balance: This class is designed for our Active Older Adults and focuses on strengthening muscles and improving balance and flexibility.

  • Chair Yoga: This gentle form of yoga is practiced sitting on a chair or using a chair for support during standing poses. Chair yoga is especially suitable for older adults, people with balance or coordination issues, and those with disabilities. Chair yoga helps increase flexibility, lung capacity, circulation and strength, improves balance, and relieves stress. Chair is provided.
  • Low Impact Cardio & Strength: This 45 minute low impact class focuses on increasing muscular strength, endurance, and cardio-respiratory health. A chair and resistance band will be provided.  Please remember to bring plenty of water and a towel.
  • Pedaling for Parkinsons: This class is specifically designed for people with Parkinson's. Led by an instructor, participants ride on an upright stationary bike for 1 hour: 10 minute warm up at 60 RPM, 40 minutes at 80-90 RPM and a 10 minute cooldown.
  • PWR!Moves: PWR!Moves classes integrate Parkinson’s Disease (PD)-specific skill training into a multimodal exercise program (flexibility, strength, balance, agility, aerobics). The specificity of training begins by targeting four motor control skills shown to deteriorate and adversely affect everyday movement for people with PD. These foundational skills (i.e., antigravity extension, weight shifting, axial mobility, transitions) correspond to each of the Basic 4 PWR!Moves (PWR! Up, PWR! Rock, PWR! Twist, PWR! Step) and are used as building blocks of function.
  • SilverSneakers Classic: Have fun and move to music through a variety of exercises to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activity for daily living skills. Weights, bands, and a ball are offered for resistance; a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
  • SilverSneakers BOOM Move: A 45 minute dance based exercise and weights class that delivers a moderate to vigorous intensity workout, designed specifically for the active older adult to increase cardio-respiratory health, endurance and muscular strength.
  • SilverSneakers BOOM Muscle: A 45 minute sports based interval- training class that delivers a moderate to vigorous intensity workout, designed specifically for the needs of the active older adult to increase muscular strength, endurance, function and cardio-respiratory health.
  • SilverSneakers Yoga: Move your body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement.
  • SilverSneakers Enerchi: This class combines easy to learn tai chi form and qigong exercises* to improve well-being through self-awareness and mindful movement. Attention is given to transferring weight smoothly,  maintaining postural control and focused breathing. Benefits include increased muscular endurance, improved balance, increased energy and a calm mind.   A chair is provided to facilitate standing stability and seated exercise options.  *Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) meditation is an ancient Chinese healing practice that combines meditation, controlled breathing, and gentle movement.
  • Tai Chi: Tai Chi is often described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements, connecting the mind and the body. This graceful form of exercise can help reduce stress with regular exercise.
  • Zumba Gold: A lower impact version of your favorite Zumba dance moves, designed for beginners and/or active older adults who want to work up a sweat while dancing to their favorite Latin Beats.
